P-GAT Industries Ltd has unveiled an ambitious N300 billion mobility and infrastructure investment programme aimed at transforming transportation, creating jobs, and positioning Adamawa State as a strategic hub for sustainable mobility innovation in Nigeria’s Northeast.
The Chairman and President of P-GAT Industries Ltd, Prime GA Timothy, disclosed this on Thursday in Numan during an international press conference ahead of the Affordable Transportation Solutions (ATRaS) Mobility Transition Summit 2026, scheduled for June 20 at the Pwanobato International Event Center.
Speaking to journalists, Timothy described the summit as a transformative platform designed to attract investment, strengthen regional integration, and unlock new opportunities for economic growth across the Northeast.
According to him, the summit will bring together government officials, financial institutions, transport operators, infrastructure developers, technology providers, energy companies, traditional institutions, and international partners to develop practical strategies for building an efficient, affordable, and sustainable transportation ecosystem.
He noted that rising transportation costs continue to erode household incomes, reduce business productivity, and limit access to education, employment, and markets. He said the ATRaS initiative was conceived to address these challenges while promoting inclusive economic development.
Timothy explained that the decision to host the summit in Numan was deliberate, describing it as a statement against the concentration of development opportunities in major urban centres and a recognition of the untapped potential of emerging communities.
During the event, the company also formally unveiled the ATRaS Mobility Ecosystem, an integrated platform that combines electric mobility solutions, fleet management systems, mobility financing, charging infrastructure, logistics support services, workforce development programmes, and community access initiatives.
At the heart of the initiative is the deployment of 300 electric tricycles under the first phase of implementation. The project is expected to stimulate local economic activities, create employment opportunities, and accelerate the transition to cleaner and more affordable transportation alternatives.
Timothy revealed that the ecosystem’s pilot mobility access programme could reduce transportation fares to as low as ₦50 per trip, significantly easing the burden on workers, students, traders, and low-income households.
He said the initiative is designed to boost productivity, expand economic participation, and create pathways for wealth creation among citizens.
To address one of the major barriers to electric mobility adoption, the company announced innovative financing and asset acquisition models that will enable qualified participants to own mobility assets through structured participation schemes.
The P-GAT chairman said special attention would be given to youth empowerment, women’s economic inclusion, small business development, household income generation, and community entrepreneurship.
In what industry observers have described as one of the largest mobility-sector interventions in the region, P-GAT Industries also announced the launch of the ATRaS ₦300 Billion Fleet Integration and Transition Programme.
The programme will support fleet modernization, electric vehicle adoption, charging and battery-swap infrastructure development, technical capacity building, and the deployment of mobility assets across Nigeria.
Timothy disclosed that 50 per cent of the programme’s total investment portfolio, amounting to ₦150 billion, has been earmarked for the six states of Northeast Nigeria over the next three years.
He said the investment would cover mobility infrastructure, logistics development, financing mechanisms, and ecosystem expansion, reflecting the company’s confidence in the region’s economic potential.
The P-GAT president projected that the ATRaS Mobility Ecosystem and its associated programmes would generate at least 50,000 direct jobs and an additional 50,000 indirect employment opportunities across the transportation, logistics, energy, infrastructure, maintenance, and enterprise development sectors.
Calling for broad-based collaboration, Timothy urged governments, development agencies, financial institutions, technology firms, traditional institutions, civil society organisations, and the media to support the initiative.
He maintained that the vision behind ATRaS extends beyond transportation, describing it as a strategic framework for economic empowerment, infrastructure investment, job creation, and regional transformation.
“Our goal is to help redefine the narrative of the Northeast,” Timothy said. “Rather than being known primarily for insecurity, the region should be recognised for innovation, immense economic potential, and opportunities for sustainable growth.”
The ATRaS Mobility Transition Summit 2026 is expected to serve as a major platform for stakeholders to discuss the future of affordable and sustainable transportation while exploring investment opportunities capable of driving long-term economic development in the Northeast and beyond.
