Police Arrest Two Over Kidnap of Four-Year-Old in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers in connection with the abduction of a four-year-old boy in Ngballang, Numan Local Government Area of the state.
The incident was reported on March 2, 2026, when Umar Ibrahim, a resident of Ngballang, lodged a complaint at the Numan Police Division that his son, Ramadan, had gone out to play on March 1 but failed to return home.
According to police authorities, initial efforts by the family and community members to locate the child were unsuccessful. A few days later, the father reportedly received a call from an unknown number informing him that his son had been kidnapped and demanding a ransom of ₦800,000 for the child’s release.
Following the report, operatives attached to the Numan Division launched an investigation which led to the arrest of two suspects identified as Sadiq Ali, 19, and Shitu Umar, 23, both residents of Lafiya in Lamurde Local Government Area.
Police said the suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation.The Command has since directed its Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take over the case for further investigation and possible prosecution.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police formation.
