The Adamawa State Police Command has rescued a kidnapped victim following an intelligence-led operation carried out in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF).
According to a statement made available to journalists, the operation was conducted at Luru Mountain, situated along the border between Girei and Song Local Government Areas of the state.
Police authorities disclosed that the joint security team encountered armed kidnappers at the location, leading to a gun duel after the suspects opened fire on operatives. The security personnel, however, responded with superior force, forcing the assailants to flee into the surrounding bush with suspected gunshot wounds.
The victim, identified as 42-year-old Jao Maiwule from Mitim Village in Shelleng Local Government Area, was rescued unharmed and has since been reunited with his family.
Commending the efforts of the joint operation, the Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Kabir Umar Hassan, directed the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit to launch a discreet investigation aimed at tracking down and prosecuting the fleeing suspects.
The police commissioner also reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious individuals—particularly those with gunshot injuries—to the nearest police station.Yahoo Mail: Search, Organize, Conquer
