Zone 3 Command Strengthens Capacity for Effective Law Enforcement

YOLA —By Ojoma Yusuf,Yola
The Zone 3 Police Headquarters in Yola has commenced a comprehensive shooting range exercise for police constables as part of efforts to enhance firearms proficiency and operational effectiveness.
The exercise, which took place at the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) Base in Yola, is in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to retrain police personnel on weapon handling across the federation.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 3, Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, organised the programme in compliance with the directive, with a focus on improving officers’ weapon handling skills and overall firearms competence.
The exercise was conducted under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations at the Zone 3 Headquarters.
Speaking during the training, Adeniran urged officers to remain disciplined, professional, and dedicated to their duties. He also cautioned them to uphold human rights standards and avoid any abuse of power in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen capacity, improve accountability, and ensure effective service delivery in maintaining law and order.
