The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 3 Headquarters, Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, has ordered the immediate training of police constables on proper weapon handling.
The directive, issued yesterday, was communicated to the Deputy Commissioner of Police overseeing the Department of Operations, who has been tasked with organizing and supervising the program.
According to the Zonal Command, the training began immediately and forms part of ongoing efforts to improve professionalism and operational efficiency across the Nigeria Police Force.
The initiative is in line with recent instructions from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, which call for standardized and comprehensive training for all officers to enhance service delivery and ensure safety in the line of duty.
At the conclusion of the program, participating officers will proceed to the shooting range for practical exercises aimed at reinforcing firearm handling skills.
The Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Aminu Umar Bashir, confirmed the development in a statement issued on behalf of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
Police authorities said the training underscores their commitment to developing a competent and disciplined force capable of effectively tackling security challenges across the zone.Yahoo Mail: Search, Organize, Conquer
