The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has officially launched the construction of the Jimeta Ultra-Modern Shopping Complex.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the Governor emphasized the significance of the project as a reflection of his administration’s commitment to economic growth, job creation, and infrastructural development.
“This project is not just about erecting a structure; it is about building an enduring legacy—a commercial hub that will attract investments, foster economic growth, and create job opportunities for our people,” the Governor stated.
The shopping complex, once completed, will feature high-end retail outlets, food courts, office spaces, and recreational areas, positioning Jimeta as a key commercial destination in the region.
The initiative aligns with the state government’s broader vision to modernize urban and rural infrastructure, promote sustainable development, and provide economic opportunities for citizens.
Awarded at a cost of ₦19.7 billion, the project is scheduled for completion within 18 months and has been divided into three LOTs, each assigned to a reputable contractor: LUBELL Nig. Ltd (LOT 1), Madugu Commercial and Construction Company (LOT 2), and AMIJAPP Nig. Ltd (LOT 3).
The state government has also engaged Mssr Associated Design Consultants to oversee the project and ensure its timely and high-quality execution.
The Governor called on traders and business stakeholders to collaborate with the Ministry of Commerce to take ownership of the project and support its success.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering all initiated projects, stating, “This is the new Adamawa State, where no one is left behind, and nothing is left untouched.”
The groundbreaking ceremony, as observed by our reporter, marks a major milestone in Adamawa State’s economic transformation, with expectations that the shopping complex will become a hub for commerce, tourism, and enterprise in the region.
