Adamawa Police Rescue 10-Year-Old Girl Abducted in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has rescued a 10-year-old girl, Ummi Jafar, who was allegedly abducted by unknown persons in Jada Local Government Area of the state.

The rescue followed a report of the child’s abduction, prompting police operatives to immediately launch a search operation to locate her and apprehend those responsible.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, on August 3, 2026, the girl was eventually found abandoned at Mararaba Mbilla in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area.

The police said the rescued child was taken to a medical facility for examination and was subsequently discharged after receiving medical attention.

She is currently in police custody, while investigators work to unravel the circumstances surrounding her abduction and identify the perpetrators.

The Command assured residents that investigation into the incident is ongoing, stressing that anyone found to be connected with the crime would be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The police also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide useful information that could assist investigators in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
