Salihu pledges to transform Adamawa into industrial, agricultural hub

Governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, has pledged to transform Adamawa State into a major industrial and agricultural hub if elected governor.
Salihu made the promise during his ongoing “Meet the People” tour in Fufore Local Government Area, where he met with party members, traditional rulers and residents to solicit support ahead of the governorship race.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the palace of the Emir of Fufore, Salihu said the area would witness significant development under his administration, particularly in agriculture, infrastructure and electricity supply.
According to him, Fufore has the capacity to support large-scale rice production and agro-allied industries capable of creating employment opportunities for thousands of youths across the state.
He said his administration would prioritize industrialisation as a means of creating jobs, reducing poverty and increasing internally generated revenue.
“Adamawa has the capacity to become one of the leading agricultural and industrial states in Nigeria. We will create an enabling environment for investors, improve infrastructure and support farmers with modern agricultural inputs and processing facilities,” Salihu said.
The APC chieftain also commended the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as efforts to improve security, peace and economic development across the country.
He cited the approval of a Transmission Company of Nigeria project in Fufore as part of the Federal Government’s efforts to improve electricity supply and stimulate economic activities in the area.
“One of the major interventions approved for this area by President Tinubu’s administration is the Transmission Company of Nigeria project, which will improve electricity supply in Fufore and surrounding communities,” he stated.
Salihu added that improved electricity supply would encourage industrial growth and improve the living conditions of residents.
Addressing supporters in Fufore, the governorship hopeful said his administration would build on the achievements of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri by attracting industries, improving infrastructure and expanding agricultural production across the state.
He also promised to develop Fufore into a centre for food production and agro-industrial activities, with emphasis on rice farming and processing.
During the visit, Salihu and members of his entourage paid homage to the Emir of Fufore, Alhaji Sani Ribadu, where he sought royal blessings and support for his ambition.
In his remarks, the Emir commended Salihu for maintaining close ties with the people of the area and contributing to developmental efforts within the emirate.
The traditional ruler noted that the APC stalwart had consistently demonstrated commitment to the progress and welfare of the people of Fufore.
