NAWOJ Leadership Celebrates Victory with Thanksgiving,Calls For Unity Among Nigerians

The newly elected leadership of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Adamawa State Chapter, has held a colourful thanksgiving service to celebrate their recent electoral victory, with a call on Nigerians to embrace unity, love, and peaceful coexistence.

The event, led by the Adamawa State Coordinator of NAWOJ, Felicia Amos Dauda, took place at the House of Refuge International, Yola, attracting a large gathering of journalists, family members, friends, and supporters from across the state.

In an atmosphere filled with gratitude and joy, Dauda expressed deep appreciation to God and to everyone who supported her throughout the election, describing her success as a product of faith, perseverance, and collective effort.

“I thank God Almighty for this memorable day and for surrounding me with love and support. I am especially touched by the unity I witnessed here today both Muslims and Christians came together to celebrate with me. This is the true spirit of Adamawa, where peace and togetherness triumph over division,” she said.

Dauda reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening NAWOJ in Adamawa State, empowering women in journalism, and promoting ethical standards in media practice.

Speaking during the service, Mr. Hyelda Abraham, Church Administrator of House of Refuge International, urged Nigerians to uphold unity and love, emphasizing that peace can only flourish in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding.

The thanksgiving, graced by prominent media figures, community leaders, and civil society representatives, also served as a tribute to Dauda’s professionalism, dedication, and long-standing advocacy for women’s rights and press freedom.

Participants commended her leadership qualities, describing her victory as a well-deserved recognition of her passion for service and commitment to excellence in journalism.
