NSCDC Arrests Nine Suspects in Mubi Raid, Recovers Weapons and Illicit Drugs

The Adamawa state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested nine suspects during a targeted security raid in Mubi and surrounding areas, as part of efforts to curb criminal activities in the state.
The operation, carried out on Monday, May 4, 2026, followed a directive from Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who ordered an immediate crackdown on identified black spots within the Mubi metropolis. The directive underscores the state government’s commitment to strengthening security and protecting residents.
Acting on the order, State Commandant Idris Dahiru Bande mobilised a team of specially trained operatives to conduct the raid. The operation focused on areas previously flagged for illicit activities.According to the Command, nine suspects were apprehended during the exercise. Security operatives also recovered dangerous weapons, including a firearm and knives, alongside illicit drugs and other controlled substances.
The suspects have been transferred to the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Yola, where they are currently undergoing profiling and further investigation.
In a statement signed by Nyako Amidu Baba, Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC Adamawa State Command,authorities confirmed that they will be charged to court upon completion of the investigative process.
The NSCDC reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Adamawa State, vowing to sustain efforts against criminal elements. The agency also urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to support ongoing security operations.
