In a gesture of community solidarity and grassroots support, the Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu, marked his 46th birthday on Sunday by distributing cash gifts to 400 youth and women in the Ribadu and Dasin Hausa communities.
Each beneficiary received ₦10,000 as part of the outreach initiative, which Ribadu said was aimed at bringing relief to the less privileged in his hometown rather than hosting a lavish birthday celebration.
The event drew party stalwarts, community leaders, and hundreds of supporters. Speaking at the gathering, Chairman of APC Ribadu Ward, Maji Dadi Funange Babaji Sallau, described the gesture as unprecedented, praising Mustapha Atiku Ribadu as a unifying figure and a true son of the soil.
“Because of your leadership and compassion, you have earned the loyalty and respect of our youth. The ‘Black-Cap’ movement you founded has become a major political force in this area and beyond,” Sallau said.
Also in attendance was Hon. James Beka, Chairman of APC in Fufore Local Government Area, who highlighted the ongoing transformation of Ribadu under the influence of National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
Beka listed key projects such as the rehabilitation of Ribadu road, a new ICT centre, industrial boreholes, and an ultra-modern general hospital currently under construction, crediting them as dividends of democracy made possible through committed leadership.
“Ribadu has become a model of grassroots development. Our people are empowered, our youth are active, and our women have a voice,” he noted.
The Assistant Secretary of APC in Adamawa, Dahiru Mahmud, also lauded the region’s legacy of leadership, describing Ribadu as a land of “torch bearers” known for producing visionary leaders from Mahmud Ribadu to Nuhu Ribadu, and now Mustapha Atiku Ribadu.
In his remarks, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu expressed appreciation for the massive turnout and reaffirmed his commitment to community development.
“This is just the beginning. Ribadu and its surrounding areas will continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy. Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has pledged more projects and empowerment programs, and the people will soon begin to see the results,” he said.
He thanked the NSA for his unwavering support for the community and acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for backing developmental efforts in Adamawa State, urging the people to reciprocate with continued support for the APC.
One of the beneficiaries, Mallama Huraira Hassan, expressed gratitude for the financial support, noting that the assistance would help her grow her small business.
“This gesture will make a big difference. I hope others in privileged positions emulate this and help lift more people out of poverty,” she said.
The birthday celebration-turned-outreach event further cemented Mustapha Atiku Ribadu’s image as a grassroots politician with a deep commitment to his community’s welfare.
