ADAMAWA WOMEN PRESENT AWARD OF EXCELLENCE TO GOVERNOR FINITRI FOR GENDER FRIENDLY

YOLA —By Ojoma Yusuf,YolaAdamawa State Women has awarded Governor Ahmedu Umaru Fintiri, his wife the first lady Hajiya Lami Umaru Fintiri and the Deputy Governor Prof Keletapwa Farauta for selfless service to humanity at the Government House Banquet hall Yola Adamawa State.Speaking at the presentation in commemoration of 16 days of activism on Tuesday in YolaGovernor Fintiri, loudly applauded the women for diming it fit to honor him with an award of excellence.The Governor called on the women to join government in crime fighting and completely eradicate the use of illicit drugs in the state.According to him, women are powerful and no society can be in good shape without women.He added that his administration will always protect women and youth interest for meaningful development at the grassroots.Governor Fintiri said, that signing of Violence Against Person Prohibition, VAPP law was deliberate as his administration has no tolerance for violence against women.In her address, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, deputy governor, appreciated Adamawa Women for the award as she promises not to misuse the opportunity given to her to serve the good people of Adamawa State.Dr Suzan Mark Zira, PDP women Leader Adamawa State stated that the entire Adamawa Women were proud of Governor Fintiri for promoting Gender equality in the state and across 21 Local Government Areas.She thanked the Governor for transforming Adamawa for good as she also appreciates him for being gender sensitive by taken female as deputy governor and vice chairmen as vice chairman as well as in appointment of cabinets .
