YOLA —By Ojoma Yusuf, Yola
The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 3 Headquarters, Yola, Adeniran Kunle Akinwale, has ordered heightened security deployment across Adamawa and Taraba states ahead of the Yuletide celebrations.
The directive was disclosed in a statement issued at the weekend by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 3 Police Headquarters, Yola, Aminu Umar Bashir. According to the statement, the move is part of efforts to safeguard lives and property during the festive period.
The AIG also directed the Commissioners of Police in Adamawa and Taraba states to implement proactive security measures throughout the celebrations.
These measures, he said, include the deployment of both kinetic and non-kinetic assets, enhanced visibility policing, increased surveillance, and the strategic positioning of personnel at worship centres, recreational facilities, motor parks, markets, and other public places.
Akinwale urged residents to cooperate with security agencies, remain law-abiding, and promptly report any suspicious movements or activities.
He stressed that security is a collective responsibility and called for stronger community–police partnership to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration.
While reassuring the public of the Nigeria Police Force’s readiness to maintain peace and order during the festive season, the AIG congratulated Christian faithful, particularly residents of Adamawa and Taraba states.
He encouraged citizens to use the season to promote love, unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence for the overall prosperity of Nigeria.Yahoo Mail: Search, Organize, Conquer
