APC’s Galadima Launches 2027 Campaign, Vows to Run Inclusive Government in Adamawa

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, Tijjani Galadima, has formally launched his campaign for the 2027 governorship election, promising to run an inclusive administration that will give women, youths, children and persons with disabilities a sense of belonging.

Galadima unveiled his campaign agenda at a press conference marking the official commencement of his electioneering activities in the state.

He said his administration, if elected, would prioritise inclusive governance, economic transformation, agricultural development and improved social services, while ensuring that government policies benefit citizens across the state.

The APC candidate said Adamawa possessed vast economic potential, citing its fertile land, water resources, livestock, mineral deposits, youthful population and entrepreneurial citizens as key assets capable of driving what he described as the “second transformation” of the state.

A major component of his economic blueprint, he said, would be the transformation of agriculture from subsistence farming into a commercially driven and industrial value chain.

Galadima proposed the establishment of agro-industrial hubs across the three senatorial zones, linking farming communities with processing facilities, storage centres, packaging plants, electricity and logistics infrastructure.

He also promised expanded irrigation schemes, improved agricultural extension services, mechanisation and stronger value chains around major crops and livestock, including rice, maize, groundnut, cotton, soybeans, sesame, cassava and livestock production.

The candidate urged the people of Adamawa to move away from the practice of exporting raw agricultural commodities, arguing that the state should process its products locally in order to retain more value and create jobs for its people.

According to him, as farms become businesses, industries emerge and markets become better organised, the state’s internally generated revenue would naturally increase.

He also pledged that citizens and businesses that pay taxes would see tangible returns through improved roads, schools, healthcare, water supply and security.

On mining, Galadima said his administration would encourage local processing and formalise artisanal and small-scale mining activities while ensuring that host communities benefit and the environment is adequately protected.

He called on the electorate to support a government based on competence, productivity, investment and measurable performance.

Galadima urged the people of Adamawa to participate actively in the 2027 electoral process and vote for a leadership that, according to him, would provide inclusive governance and harness the state’s resources for sustainable development.
