‎54-Year-Old Teacher In Police Net for Allegedly Raping 1O-Year-Old Girl in Adamawa‎

YOLA —‎By Ojoma Yusuf,Yola‎‎The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested Garba Suleiman, 54, a primary school teacher and resident of Damare, Yola South Local Government Area, over the alleged rape of a 10-year-old girl.‎‎In a statement by the state police public relations officer SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje detailed that arrest followed a complaint filed by the victim’s family at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Yola South.‎‎Preliminary investigations reportedly revealed that the suspect allegedly lured the minor and had unlawful sexual intercourse with her.‎‎The victim has been taken to a hospital for medical examination.‎‎The Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yola, for discreet investigation and prosecution.‎‎In this light l,The Adamawa State Police Command condemned all forms of gender-based violence and assured the public that the matter would be thoroughly investigated. The CP also urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the Police.‎
