Fintiri Celebrates NDLEA Chairman Marwa at 73

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has congratulated the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd.), on his 73rd birthday.

Fintiri, in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, described Marwa as a fine soldier, illustrious son of Adamawa State and national asset whose years of service have continued to inspire generations.

The governor commended the retired military officer for his leadership qualities, discipline and patriotism, noting that his contributions had left lasting marks on Adamawa State and Nigeria.

He particularly praised Marwa’s dedication to the development of the state and the country, as well as his efforts in tackling drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking since assuming leadership of the NDLEA.

According to Fintiri, Marwa’s courage, integrity and results-oriented leadership have helped reposition the anti-drug agency and renewed hope in the campaign for a drug-free society.

The governor said Marwa’s accomplishments in public service reflected his commitment to national development and the wellbeing of Nigerians.

He prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to grant the NDLEA chairman good health, strength and wisdom to enable him continue serving the nation with distinction.

Fintiri said he joined Marwa’s family, friends and well-wishers in celebrating the retired general, whom he described as a great icon of Adamawa State and Nigeria.

Marwa, a retired brigadier general and former military governor, attained the age of 73 on September 9, 2026.
