Lami Fintiri Empowers Over 1,000 Women, Youths at Northern Governors’ Wives Forum

The wife of the Adamawa State Governor, Hajiya Lami Ahmedu Fintiri, has empowered more than 1,000 women and youths in the state as she hosted the 19 Northern Governors’ Wives Forum at the Government House, Yola.

The empowerment programme was held as part of activities marking the second tri-annual meeting of the Northern Governors’ Wives Forum at the Bouquet Hall, Government House, Yola.

Hajiya Lami Fintiri reached out to vulnerable residents through financial assistance and the distribution of food and household items.

Under the financial empowerment component, 200 beneficiaries received N100,000 each, amounting to N20 million.

Another 800 beneficiaries received food and household items, including bags of rice, cartons of spaghetti, gallons of groundnut oil, mats and bedsheets.

The opening ceremony featured the presentation of cheques to beneficiaries as well as the distribution of the food and household items.

In her remarks, Hajiya Lami Fintiri expressed appreciation to the wives of the Northern governors for attending the meeting and for their collaboration towards improving the welfare of women, youths and vulnerable persons across the region.

She urged the beneficiaries to make proper and productive use of the financial assistance and items provided to them.

The Governor’s wife said the intervention was aimed at supporting vulnerable members of the society and improving their livelihoods.

Some beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Hajiya Lami Fintiri for the gesture, describing the assistance as timely and capable of helping them cope with their immediate needs.
