In celebration of the International Day of the Boy Child, the Male and Human Foundation (MHF), a Jos-based non-governmental organization, hosted Northern Nigeria’s largest-ever Boy Child Conference, drawing over 200 boys to a transformative event held in Jos, Plateau State.
This year marks the fifth edition of the annual celebration, organized to spotlight the challenges facing boys, raise awareness, and advocate for greater investment in the development and wellbeing of the boy child.
The conference featured a series of insightful talks from renowned professionals across various fields, including technology, health, leadership, education, and relationships.
Speakers such as Dr. Victor Kuchili, Dr. Elizabeth Ejiga, Dr. Vinah, Domkinan Enoch, Nuhu Gaina, and Emmanuel Longbam engaged the boys with inspiring sessions grounded in experience, empathy, and a deep commitment to nurturing young boys into responsible men.
Stakeholders, parents, and well-wishers attended the event, joining voices in support of the growing advocacy for balanced child development that includes the often-overlooked boy child.
In addition to thought-provoking discussions, the conference featured lively musical performances by artists Heavenly Dawap, Freeman Fanatic, and Younglan Talyoung, creating a vibrant and memorable experience for the boys.
Attendees also received gifts, including copies of Becoming Him, a motivational book donated by Dr. Hankuri Gaya, which further reinforced the theme of empowerment and growth.
The event concluded on a high note, leaving the boys feeling celebrated, inspired, and seen.
