NSCDC Arrests Five Suspected Armed Robbers in Adamawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamawa State Command, has arrested five persons suspected to be involved in armed robbery activities in Wuro-Hausa, the state.

The suspects were arrested at about 3:00 a.m. following actionable intelligence received by security personnel and a swift intervention involving the Corps and vigilant members of the community.

The NSCDC said dangerous weapons suspected to have been intended for criminal activities were recovered from the suspects during the operation.

The Command said the successful arrest demonstrated the importance of community participation and timely information sharing in the fight against crime.

Speaking on the development, the NSCDC Public Relations Officer in Adamawa State, Nyako Amidu Baba, said the suspects were currently in the custody of the Corps for preliminary investigation.

Baba said the suspects would subsequently be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and prosecution in accordance with extant laws.

He commended residents whose vigilance and cooperation contributed to the successful operation.

The spokesman urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements and activities to security agencies.

He said the NSCDC remained committed to protecting lives and property while ensuring public safety across Adamawa State.

Baba added that the Corps would continue to collaborate with communities and other security agencies to prevent and combat criminal activities in the state.

The Command also called on residents to provide credible and timely information that could assist security agencies in preventing crime and apprehending criminal elements.

It stressed that effective collaboration between security agencies and members of the public remained essential to sustaining peace and security in the state.

The NSCDC, however, reiterated that the suspects remained innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
