Adamawa Police Arrest Son, Two Others Over Alleged Robbery of Mother

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspects, including a 20-year-old man, Aminu Adamu, for allegedly conspiring with two others to rob his mother and siblings at their residence in Wuro Kuturu, Jimeta.

The other suspects were identified as Adamu Mamman, 22, and Nuhu Umar, 22. The three suspects are residents of Wuro Kuturu, Nassarawo, in Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

According to a statement issued by the command, the incident occurred around midnight on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, when the suspects allegedly armed themselves with dangerous weapons and broke into the family residence.

The police said the suspects allegedly stole N200,000 in cash, two mobile phones and a power bank during the operation.

Following a complaint by the victim, operatives of the Karewa Area Command commenced investigation into the incident, leading to the arrest of the three suspects on Thursday, September 17.

The command said a knife, pliers and scissors were recovered from the suspects during the operation.It added that substances suspected to be hard drugs and a quantity of suspected Indian hemp were also recovered.

The police further stated that the suspects reportedly confessed during interrogation to their alleged involvement in the robbery.

However, the allegations against the suspects have yet to be determined by a court of competent jurisdiction.

The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, directed a thorough investigation into the case.

He also ordered the command to ensure diligent prosecution of the suspects upon completion of the investigation.

The police said the investigation would establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged robbery and determine the individual roles of the suspects.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property and combating criminal activities across the state.

It urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons, movements and activities to the police or other security agencies.

The command stressed that timely information from members of the public remained crucial to preventing crime and strengthening security in communities across Adamawa State.
